Project SmartFarming presents results
The first results presentation session of the SmartFarming project was held on 15 November at the Herdade Maria da Guarda, in Serpa, one year after the start of the project.
Maritime Technology in conference
Entitled "A Sea of Technology", the annual scientific conference of the STRONGMAR project was held on 16 November at the Almeida Garrett Municipal Library. Organised by the Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS) of INESC TEC, this initiative aimed to increase the visibility of INESC TEC in the field of maritime research, as well as to improve the skills of the personnel involved in this research.
INESC TEC participates in the Brazilian Congress of Agri-Informatics
INESC TEC and INESC P&D Brasil participated in the 11th edition of the Brazilian Congress of Agri-Informatics (SBIAgro 2017), which took place at the Convention Centre and Lake House of UNICAMP, in Brazil, between the 2nd and 6th of October.

INESC TEC’s robotics team wins European Robotics League for the second time
The aerial robotics team of the Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS) of INESC TEC won, for the second time, the Grand Challenge of the European Robotics League (ERL) Emergency Robots, which took place in Piombino, Italy, between the 15th and the 23rd of September.
MarinEye creates a prototype to monitor oceans
Through the new MarinEye project, a group of INESC TEC’s researchers have created an autonomous system that monitors oceans in an integrated way, allowing a more sustainable management of sea resources and a reduction in the impact of environmental hazards

INESC TEC develops autonomous vehicles
The goal of project FLEXUS - Flexible Unmanned Surface Vehicles for the Internet of Moving Things, developed by INESC TEC’s Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS) and Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM), is to provide a set of ten autonomous surface vehicles capable of performing missions designed and deployed remotely by the researchers over the Internet.

On 12 and 13 April, INESC TEC participated in the SupplyChain Meeting, an event involving the main players in the area of logistics. The event took place in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal.
INESC TEC will develop industrial robot that works with humans in the automotive and aerospace industry
The kick-off meeting for project ColRobot project (Collaborative Robotics for Assembly and Kitting in Smart Manufacturing) took place on 18 and 19 February in Lille, France. INESC TEC’s Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS) was represented in this project meeting, which features partners from five European Union countries.
Project ICARUS comes to an end
In February, INESC TEC concluded ICARUS (Integrated Components for Assisted Rescue and Unmanned Search operations), a European project where the goal was to develop autonomous robots that could assist rescue teams in disaster situations. The project brought together 24 partners from nine countries. With a 17 million euro budget, the project lasted four years.
