INESC TEC presents Innovation and Technology Transfer model in Morocco
INESC TEC, together with the University of Washington, was invited to participate in the UM6P - Innovation Technology Transfer Framework Workshop, which took place at the OCP in Casablanca, Morocco, on 2 November. This event focused on two areas: the concept of Mission Research and Innovation and Technology Transfer. The first part of the workshop was dedicated to existing systems in Morocco and abroad. The second part was devoted to models for the Moroccan Research Centres in general, and for the Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) in particular.
Project CE4Blind improves quality of life of the visually impaired
INESC TEC, in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin, in the United States, and ACAPO (the Portuguese Association for the Visually Impaired), has developed a mobile digital platform capable of improving the quality of life of the visually impaired in a non-invasive manner.

INESC TEC in COST Action on atmospheric electricity

The COST Action kicked off on 4 October and is expected to last four years.

INESC TEC joins European communications consortium
Innovative ultra-BROadband ubiquitous Wireless communications through terahertz transceivers (iBROW) is the name of a project in which INESC TEC is involved where the goal is to develop new, low-cost, and energy-efficient wireless transmitters capable of supporting the increasing requirements in data transmission. The project started in January 2015 and is being developed by a consortium of 11 partners.
INESC TEC researcher participates in UN Conference at Google
João Paulo Cunha, coordinator of INESC TEC’s Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research, was the only Portuguese at the conference organised by the United Nations, which took place on 21 and 22 March at Google’s headquarters in Montain View (USA).
Retail sales can go up by 21%
The future of the retail industry will involve the use of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology, which makes it possible to optimise the retail cycle management. It was based on this technology that the platform ‘CreativeRetail’ was created, and it not only improves customer satisfaction, but also increases sales between 4 and 21% in stores or store chains. The CreativeRetail was developed by Creativesystems, together with INESC TEC.

INESC TEC and INESC P&D Brasil participated in the 11th edition of the Brazilian Congress of Agri-Informatics (SBIAgro 2017), which took place at the Convention Centre and Lake House of UNICAMP, in Brazil, between the 2nd and 6th of October.
