INESC TEC presents Innovation and Technology Transfer model in Morocco

INESC TEC, together with the University of Washington, was invited to participate in the UM6P - Innovation Technology Transfer Framework Workshop, which took place at the OCP in Casablanca, Morocco, on 2 November. This event focused on two areas: the concept of Mission Research and Innovation and Technology Transfer. The first part of the workshop was dedicated to existing systems in Morocco and abroad. The second part was devoted to models for the Moroccan Research Centres in general, and for the Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) in particular.

André Sá, member of INESC TEC’s Industry Partnerships Service (SAPE), presented INESC TEC’s Innovation and Technology Transfer model, providing examples of past projects and their relevance in Society. The aim was to present a good model of Innovation and Technology Transfer, with more than 30 years of experience.

In addition to being an important Portuguese example, and because INESC TE is considered innovative and an institution that is constantly evolving, the idea was to present good practices in the fields of Innovation and Technology Transfer, so that Morocco can be continue developing in this context, pursuing an innovation-based value chain.

Following the participation in this workshop, on 7 November INESC TEC welcomed Mohamed Belali, a consultant at UM6P. The goal of this visit was to promote a joint project where the goal is to develop and Innovation and Technology Transfer tool to serve both organisations.

By understanding the challenges of the future and anticipating the needs of companies and society, the focus of this partnership with INESC TEC is now to devise a plan for developing global solutions in the context of the TEC4 innovation areas, more specifically in the fields of Agro-Food(Smart Agriculture), Energy (Smart Grids), Media (e-GOV and e-LEARNING) and Health.
