INESC P&D Brasil starts new European Project

In January, INESC P&D Brasil signed the IT (Consortium Agreement) of the ITCity project, which featured four partners from South America and three partners from the European Union. The project entitled “An Information and Communication Technology Platform for a Sustainable Energy Ecosystem in Smart Cities” aims to build a smart platform based on Information and Communication Technologies to meet the needs of an intelligent, inclusive and sustainable city.

Several INESC TEC researchers have organised three summer schools – visum, MAP Breast and ASCOS. The first two were promoted by researchers from the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM), and the last by the Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP).

The REStable (Improvement of Renewables-based System Services Through Better Interaction of European Control Zones) project, which has the collaboration of the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) of INESC TEC, won the “European Energy Project” special prize at the Academy of Energy awards. Handelsblatt, a German economic newspaper, awarded the prize.
