Technology: Portuguese Consortium launches world’s first surveillance robot in 2012
INESC Porto (the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering of Porto) announced today that a Portuguese consortium aims to launch onto the market the world’s first “intelligent” surveillance robot in 2012.
Project RobVigil began in February with a 1.2 million Euro consortium set up entirely by Portuguese companies targeting the international market. INESC Porto explains in a press release that their objective is to create the world’s first “intelligent” surveillance robot.
Along with INESC Porto, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and the companies Clever House - Sistemas Inteligentes, Strong Segurança and Sinepower Consultoria will all be participating.
