Up one levelBioInstrumentation
The main focus of the BioInstrumentation Lab is human movement, as well as physiological signal monitoring and sensing, bio-inspired computer vision and human behaviour analysis and characterisation. The Lab is working on several R&D projects in these fields.
Biomedical Imaging
The main focus of the Biomedical Imaging Lab is the development of advanced image processing and analysis methodologies, particularly medical and biological images, with the aim of creating computer-aided diagnosis tools to support medical decision making. The research activities at the Lab use several imaging modalities addressing different clinical problems, namely: analysis of eye fundus images for early detection of prevalent eye pathologies, measurement of macro vascular markers in ultrasound images, early detection and characterisation of lung pathologies, and content-based image retrieval using lung CT image data.
NeuroEngineering
The NeuroEngineering Lab focuses mainly on brain imaging, motion quantification in neurological diseases and brain computer interfaces. The Lab is working on several R&D project in these fields.
Publications - Highlights
The Publications - Highlights in BioInstrumentation and NeuroEngineering will posted shortly. The publications in Biomedical Imaging are in the fields of biomedical imaging, biological imaging, rehabilitation and content-based image retrieval addressing several image modalities and with applications in different clinical departments.
