Another IEEE Fellow at INESC TEC
The IEEE has announced that João Abel Peças Lopes, Full Professor at FEUP and Member of the Board of INESC TEC, has been nominated IEEE Fellow "for contributions to microgrids and the integration of wind generation."

The IEEE, located in the United States, is the most important professional and scientific organisation in the world dedicated to electrical and computer engineering, and Fellow is the highest recognition awarded by the institution. The IEEE has about 400,000 members from 160 countries, and the total of IEEE Fellows each year cannot exceed 0.1% of the total number of voting members. This means that only one in a thousand members are nominated IEEE Fellows each year.
João Peças Lopes thus joins a set of IEEE Fellows associated with INESC TEC, thus strengthening the international recognition of the quality scientific and technological work developed in Portugal, a country that hosts some of the best engineering schools, and in INESC TEC in particular.
