The present invention refers to a distribution and provisional storage system for transport units (SIDAT) that is especially suitable for production lines that require high speed and flexibility during the manufacturing process in their manipulation of product lots, materials or components.
These types of production lines can be found in companies linked to fashion (clothing and footwear) and in production lines for special products (such as assembly lines), they can also be found in furniture manufacturing, the metalworking industry or electronics. The system is based on a matrix of moving cells, motorised by a centralised movement bus bar, on which they are mounted on. They are capable of moving the transport units placed on them to neighbouring cells. A logic aggregate of two or four individual moving cells forms a compound movement cell which is normally linked to the work posts. The matrix of moving cells comes with an optional overhead storage system.
The entire system is managed by a programme that runs on a PC and/or a programmable automaton which allows for multiple simultaneous and optimised transfers of transport units within the cells of the matrix.
