News story on project UPGRID, on Porto Canal
Until 2017, 4 smart grids demonstrators will be installed in Europe.
The goal with project UPGRID (Real proven solutions to enable active demand and distributed generation flexible integration, through a fully controllable LOW Voltage and medium voltage distribution grid) is to develop monitoring and control solutions, including new equipment and systems, that will make it possible to promote the participation of end users in the energy market.
