The areas of activity developed at the Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE) are related to Operations Management and Enterprise Information Systems applied to industrial companies and enterprise collaborative networks. The Center is committed to conduct high quality research with a strong application focus.

The Centre is committed to conduct high quality research with a strong application focus.

The Centre conducts R&D in the following domains: Manufacturing (operations management, advanced information systems for industrial management, planning and control systems, rationalisation and optimisation of manufacturing processes, intelligent automation systems, decision support systems for production management), Logistics (supply-chain management systems, logistic systems, transportation, distribution and warehouse systems) and Operations Research (optimisation methods, Decision Support Systems).

Strategic Objectives

  • Strongly contribute for the performance improvement of industrial companies, through R&D projects, consultancy, technology transfer and training.
  • Foster high quality research initiatives in specific areas where the elements of the group are internationally recognised, and start innovative research programmes in new emerging topics.
  • Transfer the resulting knowledge and technologies to software houses, equipment producers and industrial companies, through applied research, technology transfer and consulting projects.
