 chnology (MIT). Overview of the research pursued at the MIT Wireless C
 ommunications Group. The group has performed pioneering work on ultraw
 ideband (UWB) radio\, and provided a foundation for the design of UWB 
 wireless networks. We will focus on the advances and current challenge
 s in the fields of UWB synchronization\, location-aware networks\, net
 work interference\, channel characterization\, and physical-layer secu
 rity.
