INESC TEC participates in 2016 Green Business Week
INESC TEC will participate in the 2016 Green Business Week 2016 – National Week for Green Growth, which takes place between 1 and 3 March 2016 at the Lisbon Congress Centre.
In this event, INESC TEC will be represented by its Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), namely with a poster, authored by Jorge Filipe (CPES), which focuses on a forecasting tool developed as part of the European project SuSTAINABLE. This project is now operational and working in real time at the demonstration site, in Évora, for a total of 34 micro-producers and 15 substations.
The forecasts obtained present a significant improvement comparatively to the systems used today by the system operators (based mostly on the production history). The probabilistic representation presented allows the Distribution System Operator to know, with the adequate interval of trust, the impact of low-voltage photovoltaic production for each time instant.
INESC TEC will be represented in this event at the U.Porto space, promoted by U.Porto Innovation (UPIN), where the goal is to present the university and its research groups, disseminate projects and results, and demonstrate technology.
It is important to stress that in 2015, as part of the Green Business Week, INESC TEC won the “2015 Green Business Week Innovation” award for its contributions in Research and Development, and especially for its role as a business incubator. João Peças Lopes, Member of the Board of INESC TEC, also won the “EnergyLive Personality Award” for his work in mobilising and cross-border projects that made it possible increase the transfer of knowledge to the Portuguese economic fabric.
This event features products and solutions, discussion forums, innovation
and entrepreneurship projects, technical, scientific and business meetings with
international guests.
