Rui Rebelo, the Project manager at the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit (USEP) of INESC Porto. Context: Innovative technology that promises to revolutionise the footwear industry. This is a new assembly line that allows companies to meet increasingly shorter deadlines more quickly. The technology was developed by the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering of Porto and could help the Portuguese footwear industry deal with competition coming from India and China.
